Quote of the day: "102.1 Harmison to Ponting, no run, wide and Ponting has to stretch to reach it. "Harmison couldn't hit an elephant from 20 paces?" was Jeff Thomson's assessment earlier. Guess it depends on the size of the elephant." - baggygreen.com

Holocaust denier in denial!

Austria:

No more than 24 hours after being released from prison, British holocause denier David Irving has called for further denial of historical enquiry.

"I'm going to fight back," Irving 68, told reporters, "I'm calling for an international boycott of German and Austrian historians until they put pressure on their governments to end the Stalinist legislation which puts historians for expressing the wrong opinions."

German historian Rolf Hiddlemeister was befounded at Irvings call for censorship "---- -------- ---------------- ---- -----". Unfortunately, due to the boycott against censorship we've been forced to censor his comments because they are 'wrong.'

Desperate for another quote to fill out a story, mediated.com.au found a random German still celebrating Octoberfest to collude Irvings position, "Irving, who'se he? Did he make beer? Then I don't care."

In regular society Irvings claims are falling on deaf ears, many seem to believe that Irving never happened. Indeed the estimates of the offense he's caused to the Jewish population appears to be grossly overinflated.

When asked why Irving believed the academic community was giving him the cold shoulder, he could only reply, "What's that? I can't hear you? Where are you? Where are you?"

Irving still maintains that conformist historians "have not researched the issue properly -- or were frightened to."

Frankly, mediated.com.au is neither frightened nor well researched, we'd just like to return Irvings question to him for consideration...

""They should ask themselves the question: why have they been so hated for the last 3000 years, that there has been pogrom after pogrom in country after country? It's the one question they have been shy of.''

Well I dunno, free speach or the right to provoke.

However a historian recently published a book detailing the mainy misconceptions of world war 2, including Jewish collaborations with the Nazi's among other things (note he wasn't yelling and screaming anything sensationalistic).

History has somewhat been lost, what happened happened, but it didn't happen the way we are made to believe.

Travel overseas say what you like and get a holiday in a prison. Sounds like a good life to me.
May after he dies there will be Irving deniers. People that doubt that man ever existed or was taken seriously. Hang that is what is happening now.

Personally I'm amazed it got so big.

The catch of freedom of speach is that we need to be open to receive it. As you can tell from the article the bit I find amusing is one of its champions (Irving the inconic po-mo historian) is trying to censor others.

It's a funny 'ol world isn't it
